Military/Police/Firefighters

My own background as a military service member and firefighter has equipped me to work well with the special concerns of these professionals. Law enforcement and firefighting rank among the most stressful jobs in our country. The responsibilities of these professions can be quite stressful for those in this line of work, as well as their families. Police officers and firefighters are asked to put their lives on the line on a daily basis.  In addition to managing the physical risk of the job, high levels of stress may result in:

•  Marital or family problems

•  Mood related issues such as anxiety or depression

•   Trauma related problems

•   Political or legal issues

•   Drug or alcohol problems

Spending years in the military can often make it difficult for many service members to adjust back to civilian life.  For many veterans, military service can typically affect all areas of their life, including relationships, family, finances, and career objectives. Serving in the armed forces can also have a big impact on a person’s mental and emotional wellbeing.

Mental and emotional health problems are some of the most important issues that our heroes face today. I specialize in working with military issues such as deployment stress, reintegration challenges, and relationship difficulties. I also work with civil service personnel to help them find a healthy and positive work-life balance.
