Anxiety

Anxiety  is  the  most common mental health issue affecting children and adults. An estimated 44 million American adults suffer from anxiety disorders.  Many of us get nervous or anxious from time to time. However, when anxiety becomes so frequent that  it  begins to  take over our lives,  we  exhaust  our  ability  to cope.   Anxiety can interfere with a person’s ability to  do the things they most want in life, whether it’s making more friends,  dating, becoming more active, being independent,  or simply living a life free of constant worry.

Psychological symptoms of anxiety may include:

•   Feelings of apprehension or dread

•   Feeling restless or irritable

•   Feeling tense or jumpy

•   Always anticipating the worst

•   Constantly watching for signs of danger

Physical symptoms of anxiety may include:

•   Rapid or pounding heartbeat

•   Shortness of breath

•   Excessive sweating

•   Headaches

•   Fatigue or weakness

•   Insomnia

Without treatment, anxiety can last many years and even a lifetime. Thankfully, a lifetime of struggling with anxiety is not necessary. If you constantly experience worry, we can work together to help you create a life free of anxiety.
